Rainbow House Nursery
Now you can take a look at us here on the internet!
Welcome to our great outdoors!
We do not believe that learning is confined to indoors.
Here at Rainbow House we are extremly lucky to have such amazing outdoor spaces for your child to explore! Outdoor play and physical excercise are very important to us and we see the garden as an extention of our rooms. So many learning opportunities are to be had from being outside and we incorporate this into our curriculum planning on a daily basis.
Alongside our gardens, we also take the children into the local community where they can develop an understanding of the world around them. We also have a 'buggy bus' for our babies, so they can venture to the park or small farm, whilst the toddlers and preschool enjoy socialising with their community by visiting the library and shops.
The Grass Garden......
Our garden is a hive of activity all year round. We have a large wooden climbing frame for the children to use, which also boasts a climbing net, slide and climbing wall - all of which are fantastic to develop those all-important gross motor skills. We have a designated mud kitchen area where the children can get really creative! Mud pies are often the dish of the day in here, along with some worms! With low level units, water trays and a mixture of utensils, it is a great area for all the children, from babies through to preschool.
Another feature in our garden is our Willow Den. It is an all natural area which is great for imaginative play, children enjoy creating their own games in here.
The Adventure Garden.....
Our newest addition will be the Adventure Garden, due for completion in July. This will host a range of equipment aimed at challenging the children to take risks in a secure environment. From wobble bridges to tyre swings, there is so much exploring to be done! Not only do children develop their physical skills here, it also promotes their imaginative play and social skills.
A selection of bikes and scooters can also be found in our adventure garden for the children to use freely.
The Vegetable Garden......
Currently under construction, again to be finished in July, we are building a series of raised beds for the children to grow their own vegetables. The garden will also include a composting section to help them learn about recycling and a water butt to teach them the importance of preserving water during the summer especially.
